Go North to relax and lay down on the fine white sands of Langub beach and listen to the ocean as it tells you stories of tropical bliss or take a dive into Lapus-Lapus Cliffs for a taste of adventure.
It takes around 3 to 4 hours to go around the whole island, go on a hike and take the paths less travelled by, seek out the different villages to appreciate the simplicity and peace the island life brings to the quiet soul.
Don’t be afraid to explore through the maze of small paths, the atmosphere is very laid back and the locals are specially hospitable here. They will always have a smile for you and a chat if you want to stop by. On the route you will find yourself walking on lovely sand-paths with untouched surroundings that will lead you to untouched, secluded beaches.
If you are into sports you can enjoy endless jogging sessions on the beach, practice some kitesurf or join the locals for a local basketball game, they’ll be more than happy to play with you. But watch out! The level is high since basketball is the main hobby of the young locals, therefore basketball courts are to be found everywhere. If the gym is your thing head to Agila Strong. When the sun starts to fall down reach to the lighthouse and enjoy the breath-taking sunsets Malapascua has to offer. This is the best spot on the island for witnessing this daily natural show. There’s an eco-friendly bar very near to it, to find it just walk down from the lighthouse following the south path. It has its’ own little beach and the views from the bars’ terrace will leave you speechless. Once the sun is down head to Bounty Beach where you will enjoy the relaxing island vibe. There are many places where you can enjoy some live music, like Hippocampus on Bounty Beach or Villa Sandra in the village.
Use a day for an island hopping tour. We specially recommend the trip to Kalanggaman Island, one of the most breathtaking islands to visit in The Philippines. It is a 2 hour-boat ride from Malapascua and the day trip costs just 800 PHP which already includes an onboard lunch buffet once you get to the island. You will also have to pay 500 PHP enviromental tax. The boats leave from Bounty Beach around 9 AM and return at 4 PM. The island is a long sandbar in the middle of the sea, surrounded by clear waters with white sandy beaches and an amazing view of the horizon from every direction. Food Stores are located on the center of the island and the boats are docked by the left side. On one end of the island is a long extension of the sandbar which is great for swimming, sunbathing, and taking pictures. Swimming at the tip of the sandbar is prohibited since there is a strong riptide there. But anywhere else is okay. Further out towards the sea, the depth quickly drops and there are beautiful diving spots below. If you want, you can spend a night in Kalanggaman Island for 500 PHP in a tent. There is no hotel establishment in the island but there are convenience stores that sell drinks, coconuts, and food.
